Something different…

Here’s something that is very unlike my normal posts, yet it’s very personal and you’ll get to know me (:
Watch as my inner artist, foodie, crafter but also obviously engineer come together!

This is a school project that we made last week. I just started my specialisation on the 10th, after I got back from London, and we got this assignment. The whole thing was filmed, built and tested last monday, the 17th. I produced the video this week.

So, my specialisation is Constructive Design, which is a cooperation between Building engineering and Civil engineering. This was an introduction to revise our knowledge of Mechanics, in a fun and practical way. We have quite a few international students in this course, that’s why half of the talking is English. Some is Dutch, though you might pick up some German, Spanish or Portuguese as well.
I found this to be a lot of fun, really. You all know how over the moon I am when it comes to crafting 🙂 We were supposed to make an impression by making a video or something else, so I immediately volunteered.
As you can see in the video, the bridge lasted a loooong time. We are very proud of this, because the student competitions at Technical University Delft reach about the same amount of weight with their winning designs, while they have about 2 months to prepare and we got 1 week.

So, yeah, this is what I do when I’m not doing things related to the activities described on this blog (:
I totally recommend trying this at home 😛
It’s not just crafting, I think you could create wonderful art with spaghetti too..

Love,

-M.
