Bodypainting jam session

After exam stressed from two weeksโ€‹ ago, I was able to paint again last weekend. I loved it. I missed it. And the weird thing is, I always think about what I am going to do, I always plan my character, I always recreated something that I like from YouTube, but not this time. I just picked a palette and painted whatever came up. It felt really really good ๐Ÿ˜Š

The Mehron Paradise paints Pastels palette was one I hadn’t used very often yet. I bought it in Klagenfurtโ€‹ in the summer and since then, I didn’t really do much that I love.. So I opened it, looked at the colours and picked 5 I wanted to use.

I also did some details with a silver paint from DiamondFX.

I did look for some inspiration and found it with Lana Chromium. I love her style and have been following her artwork online for a long โ€‹time. Two weeks ago she posted about a silver armour bodypaint on Instagram and if you look closely, you can see that that’s what I started with. But after the first lines, I just continued on my own and it was so much fun โค

Enjoy the photos and check out the video I made here!

Cherry skull

Here’s some doodling that I have on my face right now, on a nice lazy Sunday morning ๐Ÿ™‚

All credit goes to Vanessa Davis, I love her Instagram and she inspired me to recreate on of her makeup designs. You can find her as the_wigs_and_makeup_manager. She’s awesome ๐Ÿ™‚

Products used:

  • White cream makeup as a base
  • Black eyeliner by Sleek
  • Red, black and whiteย bodypaint by Mehron
  • Green bodypaint by Bruynzeel
  • Green eyeshadows from the 120 pallette 2nd edition from back in 2010 by BHcosmetics

I am really into finding fantastic things through insta these days! ๐Ÿ™‚ This was a nice doodling session that took about an hour and a half maybe. Exactly what I needed today. Gosh I love painting.

Enjoy and have a nice Sunday.

Photoshoot ‘Red’

After your tremendous feedback on the preview, I could hardly wait to get the rest of the photos! I got all of them today and I am so, SO happy ๐Ÿ˜€

Photographer/retoucher: Wouter Oud

MUA/hair/model: Me!

Click for fullsize images! *I just discovered that this is no longer an option on WordPress? They keep changing things! Let me know if you’re able to enlarge photos by clicking on them*

For those of you that don’t know my blog yet: This is my very first photoshoot. The first one that is actually something.ย I did makeup on one shoot before (see portfolio) but this is my first time modelling. It was so cool!

So how did this happen?
I met Wouter a couple of weeks ago through other friends, and well, I talked about this blog and my passion for makeup, he looked at the blog and agreed on collaborating soon ๐Ÿ™‚

Around New Years he sent me a link to a photography competition and asked if I had any awesome ideas.
I did this makeup a yearย ago for the first time, it was very rough and it desperately needed a redo+normal photos instead of webcam photos, but I hadn’t really gotten to that point yet. Which is why I hadn’t even posted this on here.
This was the perfect oppertunity! I sent Wouter the webcam picture and he was happy, so, I sketched and changed a lot of things, actually, but, yes, the end result is very satisfying ๐Ÿ˜€

Wouter built up his gear in my living room and we were having a lot of fun shooting this. It’s very interesting to see all the different ways you can change a photo. Lights are so important. I also understand that with just my DSLR, I will not be able to create masterpieces like these photos on my own.
The good news is, next time I want to go paint myself on a weekend, I’ll call Wouter to see if he has time!

This is what my living room looked like

In short, I’m superhappy and this definitely calls for another shoot sometime soon. I would appreciate it if you could check out Wouter’s website and support him. Checking out the contest would also be pretty cool.
The most important part was having fun with it though. That is the purpose of the competition, to go Get your Gear out, go shoot, go have fun! And for that, I’m really grateful.

Thankyou for all your positive reactions ๐Ÿ™‚

WILD series: the sequel

It’s about time ! ๐Ÿ˜€

Here’s some face doodling that I did this weekend, it’s been so long since I painted my face! I really should do this every week, because seriously, it makes me feel so good..

It’s a recreation of the always amazing Alexys Fleming, known as MadeUlook by Lex. She did not post a video for it, I just saw an older photo and thought it was a great day to become a dragon.
Then I thought, why not add it to the WILD series? ๐Ÿ™‚

“I am the blood of the dragon” – Daenerys Targaryen

So you can either think of this as an animal/WILD thing, or a dedication to GoT, or just an artistic recreation of Lex’s, I don’t care, I just want you to know it was so much fun making this..

What I used:
– Mehron Paradise Paints in white, yellow, red and black
– Sugarpill Cosmetics eyeshadows Buttercupcake, Flamepoint, Love +, 2am
– OCC liptar in Kava kava
– MAX fake lashes & Kryolan lash glue
– Black mascara
– Black eyeliner, mine’s from Essence
– Probably the most important part here: a stencil ๐Ÿ™‚
– Contacts were photoshopped, but that’s optional

My stencil was very simple, I didn’t even make it myself. You know how fruit sometimes has this package in nettings or something? I kind off save those for these purposes. It’s so freaking awesome, I hadn’t used them before but AAHH love it ๐Ÿ™‚
Other than that, I think this is pretty self explanatory, so, yeah, awesome ๐Ÿ™‚

Halloween is coming up soon!!!!! The most wonderful time of the year!

Recreating: Four Horsemen: Death

Welcome to my new followers!

As you may have guessed, I have time on my hands! Whoo!
First, the video, and now I’ve done some doodling on my face.
Oh and lets not forget that I’m working on my wall painting again as well.

I’m so happy!

This look was done by Klaire de Lys, my biggest inspiration. I wanted to recreate this the moment I saw it, but I wanted to give it a small touch of my own by adding some colour. I added green eyeshadow and some of the rhinestones are green as well. This formed a nice contrast with the pink eye makeup and made my swirles more like leaves. Also, my version is not as black/dark as hers.
All in all, this took only an hour or two, which surprised me because Klaire said it took her many more. It’s was a lot of fun to be doing this sort of thing again (:

Products used:

– Eyeshadow from BHcosmetics 120 palette 2nd edition
– Etos eyebrow pencil 003 for the brown-ish lines
– Essence eyeliner pen in black
– Hema pencil in black (once my linerpens ran out, though it’s been sharpened a lot and I can’t read the exact name anymore, haha)
– Essence pencil in white (again, it has become a short pencil due to sharpening)
– BHcosmetics 66 lipcolour palette
– Hema metallic eyeshader in silver
– MAX false lashes
– Kryolan lash glue
– Rhinestones purchased at Action (cheap store in the Netherlands)

So that’s pretty regular makeup, no paints (:

As you can see in this nice closeup, my lashes were kind of a wrong choice, but I didn’t have any normal ones left. Need to get some more natural ones, these really were too extreme.

I just love what my hands look like after doing this..
