Water marble

Welcome to my new followers!

I feel like I’ve been ignoring my nailart follwers, sorry for that! Here’s a mani that I did today, it’s a water marble with Union Jack colours! At least, that was the idea. My friend is moving to London for a year, so, that’s why. Though our own Dutch flag has the same colours.. I decided to marble them, because I already did a Union Jack nailart once and we ate a marble cake friday, so, that totally makes sence!

My marbles are always random. I don’t even drop the polish in the same order all the time..

I know that everyone will notice so I’m just going to say it here, I did a very rough clean-up, not with a small brush but with a cotton bud, in a non-gentle way, which explains why there’s some polish missing in some places, haha.

Polishes used:

Essence colour&go 115 Redvolution

Hema nailpolish in cobalt blue

Hema longlasting polish in white

Last week I did this swatch:

Found it at Hema, it had a large discount so I got it. I like this one, it’s a nice colour that I can wear to school as well. I don’t think it’s too flashing. Applying was not that wonderful though, it had a small brush.

Love,

Beach nails

Good morning!

So to celebrate International Nail Art day I did this mani:

IMGP0639

It is not my own design, I found it at Chalkboard Nails. Sarah is brilliant with nailart, she’s my favorite guru for nails (:

This is supposed to be a beach with the sea and there’s a starfish on the beach.

For the design I used my own stack of polishes, I bought one new polish, the nude/sand colour and this was my first time using it. Great colour, I just think that right now I’m too tan for this one to wear without an artsy creation on it…

IMGP0644

For the whole ‘how to’ I’d like to send you to Sarah, she made a video for this. I finally understand how gradients work and I absolutely love this one.

IMGP0646

Now, I’m not that good with cleaning up, and my starfishes are kind of a fail, but this is the first time that I’m proud of my photography skills! Yay, getting there (:

Polishes used:

– Hema nailpolish in white

– Essence colour&go no. 55 let’s get lost

– Hema nailart polish in white

– Catrice ultimate nudes 05 Bonjour Chérie!

– Hema nailpolish in black (no. 20?)

MAX nail art polish in red

Previously on nailart: part 2

After I did the Easteregg manicure (see part one) I did another Easter manicure with eggs that had a simple tribal print and with cute little bunny’s with bow-ties. Please forgive me for the terrible photo quality, I promise it will get better; at the time I started doing nailart I knew nothing at all about photography.

These tribal printed eggs and bunny’s were all done with either Etos Effect nails or Essence Colour & Go, I also had old polished lying around that have no name or well known brand that I used here, such as the light pink in the bunny’s ears on my pinky finger, the hot pink base colour on my middle finger and some others I believe..

And that’s it for the holiday nailart so far, I’m looking forward to paint cartoons on my nails for Christmas! Also, in the Netherlands we have a celebration earlier in December called ‘Sinterklaas’, it’s something like Santa (in fact, Santa is a misunderstanding, the Americans created Santa Clause after the Dutch colonists told them about our Sint Nicolaas). The basics are the same, a man in a red costume wearing a hat, he has men working for him and he gives presents to children during the night. I will have a lot of fun coming up with something for that one =)

Other things that I did are fruit nails, I did the classic watermelon nails and the strawberry’s. I’ve also done Minnie Mouse nails those days:

I’ve also tried Union Jack nails, and I did a cartoon mani that I saw on Youtube, it was called ‘Picknick Thieves’. That one was cute but the pictures are no good, I will probably re-do them sometime and make better pictures.

Pictures that worked out fine are the ones from my pokémon nails, on the left is Pikachu and on the right is Togepi:

After this I discovered that you can also use acrylic paint for your nails so I bought a small basis package of acryl paint. I’m also into normal painting on a canvas instead of bodies, I just barely practice that version.

I also tried a new technique called watermarble, on the pictures below you can see my attempts.

And this pretty much wraps up the highlights so far!

Enjoy watching & feel free to request (:

Previously on Nailart: part 1

So I figured I would like to show you my ‘old’ nail mani’s that I did before I started this blog. I did some for my mother before, but that were simple flower mani’s that I never captured on a photograph. The very first nailart that I did on my own was this one:

Easternails

I found this manicure on Youtube and I thought this was cute. The dotted nails represent Easter Eggs and the others are baby chickens coming out of an egg.

I did one layer of my Hema Basecoat, then I did three layers of yellow, this is Etos Effect Nails nr. 16.

The baby chickens’s egg shell is a French Manicure white by Nailoid Results, the eyes are a black Etos Effect Nails nr. 20 (This is a very old one, I can’t tell you if it’s still the same number)  and the nose is an orange Etos Effect Nails nr. 17.

The dotted eggs have red and blue dots,  the blue is Essence Colour & Go 55- Let’s get lost. The red is a very old polish called Prestige Nail Bijoux that I bought in Italy four years ago, I could barely make out the brand name and I can’t see any number on them..

So, for a first mani, what do you think?
